A place of legend, romance and myth.
One of the world’s seven greatest natural wonders, Victoria Falls is also
described
by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800's as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’
meaning ‘the Smoke that Thunders.'
The
greatest curtain of falling water, sprays the wide basalt cliff over which
the falls thunder, and mist clouds that are always rising from the depth
of the gorge, creating an enchanted scenery of mist and rainbows.
Rainforest and wild life surround the falls.
Victoria
Falls, located in south Africa on the Zambezi River, forming the border
between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Discovered
by Dr David Livingstone, aScottish explorer, on November 16, 1855.
He named it after Queen Victoria as a tribute to the 19th century English
monarch. however long
before, the Kololo people living in the area in the 1800’s.
